BORDERNET Evaluation Conference „Joining Competences for Joint Actions”

Main goal of the conference is to outline and disseminate the major results achieved by BORDERNET in the years 2005-2007 and to highlight the Best-practice crossing-border cooperation actions in each of the four model and the tandem regions.


The programme suggests a critical appreciation of the successfully carried out joint actions under BORDERNET, which will be complemented by plenary presentations and inputs from further experts in order to achieve a general impression of the situation in the fields of HIV/AIDS- and STI- prevention, diagnostic and therapy along the old and new EC borders.


Besides panel discussions and workshops will offer possibility for an intensive exchange on topics bearing considerable importance as milestones for the ongoing as well as for prospective partnerships in the future: HIV/STIs sentinel surveillance and diagnostic; HIV voluntary counselling and testing, effective prevention methods in HIV/STIs, networking in cross-border contexts.

The meeting will be attended by more than 60 partners, contributors and experts: representatives of all project partners from the six BORDERNET countries, by the tandem region partners from Ukraine and Croatia, and the two new partner countries Bulgaria, Estonia and Romania. A wider circle of stakeholders from national and regional health authorities and HIV/AIDS/STI service providers will be also present.
