2. SPECIFIC OBJECTIVE

Quality assurance in youth prevention:
To enhance accountability and evidence-based evaluation in youth HIV/STIs prevention, sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) programmes by end of 2011.

3. DESCRIPTION OF THE WORK

The 8 EU associated partners and 4 experts from NON-EU countries partners conduct a wide range of youth prevention, which needs to be evaluated. Therefore the work starts with a rapid assessment of the available prevention actions. In an expert meeting the partners develop guides how to evaluate various methods of youth prevention collecting accountable data. Proved assessment tools, eg PREFFI, youth reproductive health programmes guide (FHI) will be also used. These guides will be applied by each partner in the ensuing evaluation period. In a satellite conference of the World AIDS Conference 2010, project leaders and youth prevention peers review the collected data and develop evidence-based quality standards for youth prevention activities and also exchange best practice models. On that basis an online evaluation tool will be created and applied by the project partners in a following six month trial to assess their youth prevention activities. Upon evaluation of the pilot phase the online tool is accessible in Internet.
